St. Germain Library

Pine, dyes, glazes, glass (cabinets); crotch mahogany veneers, mahogany, dyes, glazes (Bible stand)

I designed these cases to display Janet’s collection of old volumes. The glass shelves are inert and don’t react with the paper and bindings of the books. The cases themselves match antique pine millwork found elsewhere in her 18th century home. The book stand, which cradles a hand-illuminated Bible, had been previously commissioned by Peter as a gift for his wife.
